| Kinesio Tex Tape has been around for over 25 years. But it was only during the 2008 Olympics that many people became familiar with this product as numerous athletes appeared in their competition sporting the tape. Why did they use it? Kinesio Tex tape is an elastic therapeutic tape that was developed in Japan by Dr. Kenzo Kase. Unlike other elastic tape products on the market today, Kinesio Tex Tape has several unique features. These features are the main reason this tape is the gold standard in sports medicine and rehabilitation.
This tape is completely latex free, breathable, it is made of a cotton fiber that mimics human skin and it is economical because it can be worn for 3-5 days (even in the water). (Please be aware that due to the popularity and the effectiveness of Kinesio Tex tape over the years, many companies begun to produce imitation brands. They can look very similar but for us, there is only one brand. We only trust the original Kinesio Tex tape for best results and we encourage our patients to do the same.) |
